NetApp ONTAP Fundamentals and CIFS Configuration

NetApp ONTAP Fundamentals and CIFS Configuration:

To list the details about your filer:
run sysconfig command.



To list the ipaddress of the filer:



Help Command:
Run Help :  you will get this output:



To see the aggregate status and space:
aggr status
aggr show_space <aggr name>


 To see the volume status and disk free:

vol status
df -h



Creating aggregate with raid_dp and using 6 disks.



Checking the status of the new aggregate and size of that aggregate:

run license command:





Creating a cifs shares: name dbshare1




Access from the windows client:

map network drive or type in the run \\hostname\sharename:





Authentication method configured in the cifs setup:


Now you are able access the dbshare1 in windows client:



 You are able to create a directories in that share:


 To check who are accessing the cifs share :

Run cifs sessions command:
